Wilmot Design Studio offers architecture, planning, and interior design services to public, private, and institutional clients from early feasibility through project closeout. Our institutional project experience ranges from feasibility office planning to complex healthcare delivery spaces. Our firm is dedicated to delivering quality design and bringing value to our clients, in addition to the individuals, cultures, and communities our clients serve. We tailor our process and services to work directly with clients or as part of an extended project team. We have in-depth experience collaborating with the multi-disciplinary consultants required to deliver a successful project. We are committed to combining inspired aesthetic design with a focus on performance, budget, durability, efficiency, and future flexibility.

Working together, using the latest design technology we believe in fostering a positive studio environment and culture that stimulates the open exchange of ideas, creativity, innovation, and communication between all involved in providing an optimal design solution.

Principal
Co-Founder of Wilmot Design Studio, with an eye on every detail, MaryAnn is a collaborative leader and designer bringing value to clients through a multidisciplinary skillset that extends from initial high-level concept to project closeout. MaryAnn has engaged in healthcare projects at every phase, bringing value to each unique project by instituting a well-coordinated design and documentation process. Leveraging multiple degrees that include Architecture, Interior Design, Planning, Technical, and Management Skills, she is also Certified in Evidence-Based Design (EDAC) through The Center for Health Design, and a Lean Practitioner in Healthcare from Johns Hopkins Medicine (Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt). Her portfolio includes healthcare projects ranging from renovations to new construction. Outside of the studio, she is a dedicated contributor to her profession as an active member in multiple organizations, serving on the Board of Directors for the Women in Healthcare Maryland Chapter and an Advisory Board for Radford University Interior Design Program.
Legacy lessons learned: Though many clients may have similar goals, each and every project is unique and different, requiring a unique approach to design problem solutions.

Tim Wilmot
AIA, NCARB
Principal
Co-Founder of Wilmot Design Studio, a people person, who thrives on a challenge. His inherent “bring it on” optimism allows him to guide clients and their teams towards finding optimal solutions for design problems. Tim draws his knowledge from his experience in healthcare projects and ability to optimize technical coordination and track quality assurance. He is a natural team leader, with project management experience and working with people from various backgrounds to find solutions that meet the client’s goals and vision. His experience extends beyond project management, including knowledge in construction management, design and delivery of healthcare projects ranging from large scale replacement hospitals to small institutional renovations.
Aside from his healthcare experience, Tim has also worked on projects in residential and government sectors. Also, with a technical mind for IT management, computer hardware and software relative to design, Tim looks for innovative ways to build efficiency into every project he works on.
Legacy lessons learned: Professional success hinges on building strong relationships of trust with clients and partners. “To be there when needed”.

We are grounded in the architectural legacy of our grandfather, John C. Wilmot, FAIA and our late father Jim C. Wilmot, AIA. Leaders in the healthcare design field throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, John and Jim were dedicated to their clients, project teams, and communities they engaged with. They were passionate about providing good quality work that will serve their clients for generations.
